Each of our half-day “Rigor for All” sessions is designed to be exciting while interacting with material from Dr. Marzano’s newest publication and provides the roadmaps necessary to immediately increase rigor in any lesson. Fresh research on strategically combining Habits of Mind empowers teachers and students to accept the challenge of rigor at any stage of learning.

During these hands-on sessions created by the Marzano Evaluation Center, teachers will create a toolbox filled with the instructional strategies, tools, and resources that are the focus of each session.

Escape to Rigor: Cognitive Analysis Skills and Habits of Mind

Escape the low-rigor lesson! After entering our highpaced, hands-on escape room themed session, participants will be challenged to use skills such as analyzing errors, classifying, supporting claims, comparing, and elaborating to complete tasks. Rigor in the classroom doesn’t have to be elusive, tedious, or boring! The reward for breaking the low-level taxonomy code includes fresh strategies that can be used immediately in the classroom to embed rigor into any lesson, along with the habits of mind to help students achieve at the highest levels of taxonomy.

Solve the Puzzle of Rigor: Engaging Students in Knowledge Application Tasks

Put on your sleuth hats as we problem solve, make decisions, investigate, experiment, invent, and analyze systems to discover how to piece together the mystery of rigor in the classroom. This engaging, hands and minds-on session will challenge participants to increase rigor from initial learning to deepening understanding. Teachers will leave with ideas and strategies that are ready to be implemented immediately in the classroom.
